Comms Local Gmail Terms of Use
Last updated: October 26, 2026.
Personal utility
Comms Local Gmail is a personal desktop command-line utility operated by John Marcel Williams for his own authorized communications search and review. It is not a public email service or an invitation for other people to connect their accounts.
Authorized, read-only access
Google access requires the account owner's consent and is limited to Gmail read-only permission. The CLI reads information to maintain a local search index. It cannot send mail, create drafts, change labels or read status, or delete Gmail messages. Google authorization can be revoked at any time.
Review before acting
Search results and reply candidates are aids for the owner to review. Index coverage may be incomplete, stale or truncated. A result does not establish that a response is owed or that a proposed appointment is confirmed. The owner checks current source conversations and makes scheduling and correspondence decisions.
Local operation and separate services
The owner controls use of the local computer, credentials, index and retained copies. The CLI does not call an AI model; any owner-directed assistant review is a separate service. Google's services and any separately chosen services remain subject to their own applicable terms.
Privacy, availability and contact
Data handling is described in the privacy policy. Operation depends on local software, Google authorization, network availability and API limits; continuous availability is not promised. These terms describe the current personal utility and do not establish a subscription or paid support service.
Questions can be submitted through the contact page.
